Texas Hold'em Super Success
28 January 2008

Edenderry GAA Club ran its first Texas Hold'em Tournament on Saturday night last. It ran from 6.30 Saturday evening to the wee hours on Sunday morning.

Thanks to all of the members and well wishers for supporting the night. Well done to the organising committee for the effort put in to making the night a success.

Much praise must go to Gay Rickard and Ben Nolan for their advice about the function, however hats off to Mr. Adrian Brereton of Pets Paradise Pet Shop for his energetic help and support. His efforts on the night ensured that it was an amazing success, and experienced card players were vocal in their compliments about how professionally run the game was. Many thanks Adrian.

Eight players made it to the final table and the intensity levels were running high as the betting levels increased. Edenderry Senior player Shane Bagnall played well and made it to the final four, but the eventual winner was Richard McGuinness from Rathangan who edged out Stephen Hamilton in the final game.

1st place 3000 euro - Richard McGuinness
2nd place 1000 euro - Stephen Hamilton
3rd Place 750 euro - Liam Nolan
4th Place 500 euro - Shane Bagnall
